Simms was named after an old-time trapper
who had a cabin on the bank of the Simms Creek.

The first schoolhouse in Simms was built in 1911.

The first graduating class from Simms graduated in 1922.

In 1929, the first bus to carry students to school
ran down the valley.

Simms's first newspaper was printed in 1912. The
newspaper's name was "The Simms Enterprise".

The first passenger train to Simms ran on December 3, 1912.

The Women's Club in Simms was founded in 1912.

On June 27,1911 railroad work started in the Sun River Valley.

Twelve horsed were used to pull the first combine in Simms.

Simms High School started as a three-year high school in 1914.

The Simms Catholic Church was completed in 1915.

"The Simms Enterprise" suspended publication in 1919.

In the late 1920's and 1930's, several Mormon families
moved to Simms and built a church
