History We live on the outskirts of the Yellowstone National Park ecosystem in southwestern Montana, and predators are not uncommon in our ranching community. Our first Australian Shepherd, Yogi, was purchased to keep a watchful eye on our children while on their frequent horseback rides. He soon proved to be an effective tool in home-land security. Yogi was our introduction to Australian Shepherds, and we discovered through him that there was more than beauty to this breed. What started in necessity blossomed into full-blown love and the subsequent creation of Headline Australian Shepherds, which shares the name with my first entrepreneurial effort, Headlines Hair Care, a business I began in the mid 1990s and still operate today. Ethics Since its origination Headline Australian Shepherds has focused on producing quality offspring from our exceptional show stock. We take pride in selective, well-planned breeding from parents carefully chosen for their temperament, health and beauty, and each dam and sire is pre-screened for potential genetic problems. We firmly believe that conscientious breeders are the key to the Australian Shepherd’s growth, and we are proud of the work we are doing to improve the breed and preserve its integrity. Goals We will continue to compete in local, regional, and national shows. Our quality shows! As our children become more involved, we will also compete in obedience and agility competitions. One of our sons was recently awarded 4-H Grand Champion in obedience with his Australian Shepherd, Cinch, at their first competition. Our most recent endeavor, Noble Fork Boarding, is taking up much of our spare time. This new 800 square foot facility houses our Australian Shepherds with room left over for quality boarding. |
