3 Rivers has reported previously about customers having difficulty receiving and completing long distance phone calls for some time. This is a national problem, not related specifically to 3 Rivers’ network. The FCC concluded that certain long distance carriers are deliberately not completing calls in higher cost rural areas as a way to avoid paying terminating carriers (where you live, that’s 3 Rivers). Recently one provider has reached a settlement with the FCC regarding such practices. Hopefully, this will be a deterrent for others and 3 Rivers customers will see fewer problems in the future.
