If you do not have a domain name and want to upload a personal web site to your free space on our public server, your FTP host address is www.3rivers.net.

Follow the example as shown to set up your FTP...

After you have set up your FTP program, click the "Connect" button to begin the process of uploading your files to the Internet. On the left side, locate your folder/files using the small down arrow button on the left screen and double-clicking to open the folder you want to upload. On the right side, double-click on the "public_html" folder to open that folder. Now click and drag the folder from the left side to the right side. This will upload the files into your "public_html" folder on the server. To add additional pages simply repeat the drag and drop procedure above. When making changes to or updating existing files, drag the files and/or folders from left to right and the existing files will be replaced with your changes.

To view and test your web site, open web browser and browse to the following location: http://www.3rivers.net/~username. (Remember to use the "~" symbol which is normally in the upper case position to the left of the 1). For example, if your username is test, your web page URL would be http://www.3rivers.net/~test.

Remember that the file name of your main page must be "index.html". If you see an error message instead of your HTML page, check that a file named "index.html" is present in your public folder on the server.
